It is plastic and reminds me of the toys I used to buy my kids when they were small. I still really like it and it looks nice in my bathroom. I love that the clear doors have magnets to hold them closed. I love that it will keep my stuff dust free. I love that the storage is deep and holds a lot more than it looks like it holds. I just love everything about this egg! For the people saying that it feels like cheap plastic, it's not like it's a toy. It doesn't need to be super heavy. It's meant to protect your stuff from dust and give you extra storage and it does just that while looking very cute.Product seems a little cheap in person, but does the job of looking cute and storing items well.I thought this would be good to store my daily use makeup on the vanity. It exceeded that expectation and I was able to fit all my makeup, eyeshadow palettes, liners and foundations in this container.
